if your boss is giving you a hard time and belittling you what do you do...don't do?.
what are your rights?.
who in higher authority should you go to?.
Hi Hibe
If your boss is giving you a hard time and belittling you what do you do...don't do?
Don't let them see that they are getting you down - that will just encourage them to do it more.
Don't get angry with them - that will give them a reason to fire you and you would also be lowering yourself to their level of behaviour.
Do try to respond with genuine kindness, like Paul wrote somewhere (something like) repay them with kindness and you'll be heaping hot coals on their head. It may take a while but they might eventually start feeling a bit guilty about treating you so bad.
Are they belittling you because you're preaching your faith to them and they don't want to know? If so, maybe it's time to stop. You can still proclaim the gospel by example - I think it was Francis of Assissi who said 'Preach the gospel, use words if necessary'
What are your rights?
Can't help you on this - if it was really bad, it would be classed as bullying in the UK - you could go sick with stress, feel unable to return to work and sue for 'constructive dismissal' here! (where you accuse your employer of deliberately making your life so miserable that you felt you had no alternative but to leave, ie they 'pushed' you)
Who in higher authority should you go to?
This depends on the organisation of your workplace, you should be able to speak to your bosses boss, whoever they are, or as suggested in another reply, your HR department.
What happens if your boss wrote you and cc to authority do you respond?
Sorry, don't understand the question!
You also mentioned about your boss looking at confidential papers you printed - well if they are work related, surely this doesn't matter? It's still confidential within the company and she is your boss, so don't let it bother you too much.
If you still feel like annoying them though, instead of gay porn freebies why not send loads of free bible study courses? - should be easier on the conscience

by nuclear war, i don't mean 2 bombs like in japan back in 1945, but something much worse, like half of the population of the us being destroyed in a nuclear conflict.. probably jw's would say, no to the question because they think that their work of salvation is soooo important that god wouldn't permit their destruction..
seriously, religious people talking about Revelation and nuclear wars kind of freak me out.
look into my eyes tetra!! defd - assuming there is a God, it's all very well him saying it's not his desire to do it - that does not mean the same as he won't. It's not my desire to get out of bed in the mornings, but I still do it anyway

Ah but think of it this way JH - we'd be saving him the effort!

I guess, looking at Revelation chapter 6 and 9, where large proportions of the earths poulation get wiped out, maybe He will permit a large scale nuclear war.
Taking the Bible prophecies out of the equation, I still think He would permit it - otherwise we've no free will.
Half the population is either starving to death or perishing from aids. Whats the difference?
Good point defd. It again comes down to free will.
who is your favorite bible character and, or, account and why?
Please define 'true'
Seriously, I like Elijah because he's the proof that you can have a strong, active faith and still find yourself in a mess. It's not a sign of sinfulness or weak belief, it can happen to anyone, anytime.
oh dear!england out of top ten.
england's embarrassing defeat to northern ireland last week has cost them their place in the top 10 of the fifa world rankings.
that 1-0 reverse in belfast saw sven-goran eriksson's side slip from seventh to 11th.

c'mon you greens!
You get the feeling nobody's taking the bait ozzie?
you know the charity that hosts phone lines for the desperate or suicidal?
part of me wishes i had the time to di that, but i have friends who do it, and i think i would freak out trying to be kind and understanding to a desperate wife who wants to die because her husband beats her up and raped her children.
has anyone here tried this sort of work?
I applied and went for an interview a few years back - they turned me down - the reason? I'd told them I was a Christian so they thought I wouldn't be able to cope with some of the calls
I'm no use to them for now as I'm more likely to find myself on the calling end of the line. Maybe when I recover though, knowing how it feels to be suicidal might enable me to help others.
i want to officially retract the opening statment of my "does anyone else not care about katrina?
" thread.. i've been watching coverage like a hawk all day, and it cannot be compared to the homeless problem in our country.
i still stand by what i said, which is that we should always support and feel compassion for those who are less fortunate, even when cnn is not involved, but this is definitely different.

You've a good heart deep down. I think most of us have said or done things we later regret
The important thing is to have the humility to admit if we got it wrong (or not quite right). You've earned a lot of respect for doing just that.
Sometimes we don't fully realise the gravity of events or situations unless they happen on our own doorsteps. Sometimes it's so beyond our comprehension that our mind somehow 'switches off' or goes into a kind of denial. Just now, reading Brenda's post has shocked me, I knew Katrina was devastating but I never knew such a huge area had been affected. I wish there was more I could do now.
jgnat, .
you had some points that i missed in a previous thread.
here are my answers to your charges.
I like you OSO - only because your arguments even make me look intelligent!!
If it was jgnat who had said this:
Everyone bemoans 'black and white' thinking but that is the reality of God. "Why do you call me 'good'? No one is good except God!"
Rex
then on the basis of your previous replies your answer to her would be:
'Ah - you don't believe that Jesus is God then!'
That's just how silly your arguments appear to me and probably many others. I'm slightly agnostic at the moment but the Christian who is having the biggest impact on me out of the two of you is jgnat - if the world was full of Christians like you, Shining One, (edited to avoid potential confusion!) I think I'd rather be an atheist. The written word without the Spirit is dead and from where I'm sitting, you are seriously lacking the Spirit.
